1. Dashboard – It gives the Administrator an overview of the following: Unanswered questions, new Posts, New Users, Access Requests, New Announcements, Active users, new Events, New Channels and Active channels for the selected period. Dashboard gives quick links to create announcements, quiz post, media, event and reports.
2. Channel – A Channel is a stream of Posts. Channels are mapped to Users/User Groups. Any Post with in a Channel is visible to all Users mapped to the Channel. Channels can be mapped to Categories for easy classification. As an example: an Organization can have 5 Sales Channels – Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Sales Operations, Partners and Product Information. Relevant members of the Sales team can be enrolled to each of these Channels. All of these Channels can be mapped to the “Sales Department” Category.
3. Category – It allows you to classify channels.
4. Post – A post is the structured form of consumable bundle of information associated with selected channel(s). Inside a post, one can have multiple Items in any permutation and combination. Moreover Items can be posted as Sequential (the User has to consume the first Item in the Post before moving to the next) or non-Sequential (Items within the Post can be consumed in any random order).
5. Item – Items can be classified into media (video, image, document, audio and scorm etc), events and assessments (quiz).
6. Transcoding (in the ‘Add Video’) - It will allow you to convert the video into configured different versions according to the device. Based on the size of the video uploaded, transcoding will differ. Eg - 300mb video type-processing may take around 30 minutes.
7. Announcements – Communication to Users/User Groups. It supports media attachment.
8. User Role – It is a role which enables you to control the access given to the users. There are system defined user roles namely; learner & site admin. Also, two derived roles namely; channel Administrator and content author. (System defined roles are the default roles with minimum and maximum permissions available to the user whereas Derived roles are created to limit the permissions within the minimum and maximum range)
9. Parent Role (Under ‘Add new role’): It is the base role for creating a new role. Parent role can be a selection of one of the pre created roles.
10. Channel Administrator - This role allows the user to manage the following modules within the assigned Channel: User Groups, Announcements, Posts, Items, Event, Media Library, Assessment, Manage Site.
11. Content Author – It’s a role which gives the user, permissions to create/edit the content:
Posts, Items, Events, Media Library and Assessment.
12. Learner – It is a role which gives the user permission only to consume content, take assessments, ask questions and participate in events.
13. Site Administrator – It’s a role which gives the user permission to access the entire Administrator side controls and the instance.
14. Bulk Import of users – This option allows to add multiple users through an Excel sheet upload.
15. Active status – Channels and Posts marked ‘Active’ will be visible to enrolled Users.
Users marked ‘Active’ will be able to access the Platform.
16. Rationale (In the ‘Assessment’ Section) – A statement that justifies the reasoning behind the correct answer of a question.
17. FAQ – A question asked by a user can be marked as an ‘FAQ’ by the Administrator, if he feels it will be useful to all the Users who are enrolled to the Channel. Once marked as an FAQ, the question and the response to it of the Administrator will be visible to all the Users who are enrolled to the Channel. To access ‘FAQ’, go to the ‘Manage Site’ section.
18. Static Pages – It allows the user to add a customizable page (rich text editor) which appears in the footer section.
19. Publish (Under ‘add announcement’) – Publishing an Announcement will make it visible to the
assigned Users from the ‘Publish Date’ onwards.
20. Save as Draft (Under ‘add announcement’) – This options allows you to save an Announcement as a draft on a temporary basis without publishing it.
21. ‘Manage Questions’ under the head ‘Channels’ section – ‘Manage Questions’ allows the
Administrator to answer all the Questions a User has asked related to a Post. The Administrator can also mark a Question as ‘FAQ’ so that it is visible to every User who has access to the
